Someone I follow on Instagram had posted that they started an online course about making over your morning routine. I checked out the course and it seemed really interesting! After moving and with trying to save for the adoption expenses my budget is tight..... super tight..... so I just couldn't spend the $17 USD for the online course. Instead I decided to check out books by the same person running the e-course. Turns out she has a book called 5 Days to a Better Morning that was very cheap on Kindle. So I decided to give it a try. I'm sure it's not as in depth as her online course but for me I feel like it will be a good starting point. One of first steps are to tell someone (hello there!) which is why I'm writing this post. Another step it to figure out your "Big Rocks", which are the main things you want to get done. For me they are: - Eat Breakfast - Get Ready - Pray/Meditate - Work on The Choice of Motherhood - Yoga Other than eating breakfast and getting ready the rest tends to get neglected in the morning. I tend to just sit on my computer reading random news articles instead of being productive. My schedule right now is flexible because I don't officially start work for another week so I'm hoping to establish a good base for my routine before pushing it about a hour or so back for an earlier "get out the door" time. Here's my planned schedule for right now.... starting tomorrow: 7:00 am - Get out of bed, start getting ready (I usually do everything but brush my teeth and get dressed before I eat) 7:15 am - Pray/Meditate 7:30 am - Yoga 7:45 am - Breakfast and start working on The Choice of Motherhood 8:15 am - Finish getting ready 8:25 am - Start your day! These times are probably going to be way too short but that's the point of trying this BEFORE I start back to work. I'd rather figure things out before going back since I won't have to actually leave the house by a certain time. Instead if something takes longer I can adjust as I need to, that way come next week I can easily know what time I need to get up at to make my morning routine a success :) I'll let you know how this goes!
