I feel like my plan is pretty much perfect. It will allow my to try to get pregnant every month without breaking the bank, will allow me to have the increased chance of success without having too much invasive and expensive treatment, and will allow me to save for a back up plan that's more of a guarantee. So here's my plan: - Try with my known donor every month, even if I'm doing an IUI. I've talked with my donor about it and he is comfortable with me doing both. If I get pregnant we will just have a paternity test done to see who the successful donor was. - Try IUIs for as long as I feel comfortable. Right now I'm definitely going to do three, possibly up to six. After that I don't feel that the chances of success are any higher than home inseminations. The cost of them can add up pretty quickly so I need to make sure I have a line drawn. - Save for international adoption just in case. I can keep trying with my known donor even after I decide to stop doing IUIs so I can just keep on doing home inseminations until I start the adoption process. International adoption is much more of a sure thing than domestic so I really think it's the best use of my money. Home inseminations are relatively cheap so it won't cause issues with saving. Right now I'm still having testing done at the new fertility clinic but I plan on trying with my known donor starting this cycle. I'm really excited to have a little bit of hope each month. You never know what might happen, I'm hoping it's just a matter of time. Here is the YouTube video where I talk about it some more.
