Description of the Book from AmazonWhether you are trying to conceive naturally or through IVF, the quality of your eggs will have a powerful impact on how long it takes you to get pregnant and whether you face an increased risk of miscarriage. Poor egg quality is emerging as the single most important cause of age-related infertility, recurrent miscarriage, and failed IVF cycles. It is also a major contributor to infertility in PCOS. Based on a comprehensive investigation of a vast array of scientific research, It Starts with the Egg reveals a groundbreaking new approach for improving egg quality and fertility. With a concrete strategy that includes minimizing exposure to toxins such as BPA and phthalates, choosing the right vitamins and supplements to safeguard developing eggs, and harnessing nutritional advice shown to boost IVF success rates, this book offers practical solutions that will help you get pregnant faster and deliver a healthy baby. My ReviewI really enjoyed reading this book. I liked that it talked about the pros and the cons about different supplements. I also liked that it talked about the research behind the supplements instead of just saying “take this”. The book also has different “plans” depending on what issues the woman is having. Some advice out there I feel might be too extreme for some women who are on their first cycle so I like that there is a balance for those who are trying naturally, those that are on their first cycle, and those who need the most help they can get. I would recommend this book to any woman who is trying to get pregnant. I think this book does a great job explaining about egg quality and why it matters for all women, not just those undergoing IVF. I feel like there are a lot of women who thing getting pregnant is very easy and then when they are struggling they have an even harder time. Even though I knew I would have fertility issues I never thought it would be this hard. I also had no clue where to start in order to help improve my chances naturally. Many of the supplements that this book recommends are also recommended by my fertility clinic. Even though the book does have a chapter with an overview of the plans I wish there was just a quick reference chart stating how much to take of what. When I went to buy my supplements I found it a little difficult to quickly see what I needed to order. Having a chart with a quick reference would have made it a lot easier to see what to buy and how much I needed to take. Overall I feel that this book is great for women wanting to increase their chances of conceiving naturally. The book is very well researched and has great plans that go from basic to more advanced issues. A must read for any woman, not only those doing IVF.
