Description of the Book from Amazon

STOP! is not a book about health, wellness, stress reduction, diet, and exercise. There are thousands of books on those topics. STOP! is not fundamentally a business or a self-help book. Eric Parmenter’s STOP!, based on the latest behavioral and brain science, is designed to help you figure out what you can STOP doing to create more space in your life to enhance your joy, your well-being and productivity, so that you can live a life on purpose. Parmenter, a top healthcare consultant, candidly shares his personal experiences that prompted him to write this useful book, an easy, but thought-provoking read.

My Review

The publisher was kind enough to provide me with a copy of this book to review. All opinions are my own and honest.

STOP is a book that is exactly how is sounds. It gives a list of 21 main things that we need to stop doing to have a better life. The author breaks the list into specific topics and then explains why we need to stop doing those things and how. There are main references for the research that went into the book and explanations on how these things cause stress and imbalance in our lives. I have read MANY books with the various topics the author talks about and I can honestly say there was nothing that really wowed me. None of these ideas were really new or anything that I didn't know I needed to stop (many I have already stopped). For some people needing a starting point to become more productive in general there may be some good ideas for them, some things they can stop during right now and get started on a better life. But for me there just wasn't anything that stood out. It was definitely a quick and easy read but not one that was groundbreaking in any way.
